The life expectancy of Expandasign products are impossible to predict, as it is entirely dependent on the climatic conditions, hours of use and care of use.
Correct set up and usage of the banners will greatly improve the life expectancy of all our products.
Wind and Rain
In winds exceeding 25mph flags should be taken down. Remember that if it is windy at ground level it is much worse at the top of the banner. Heavy rain will increase the weight of the flag which will cause unnecessary wear, especially in high winds. The dyes used in our manufacturing process are all tested for UV stability however salt and direct sunlight can have adverse effects on colour over time.
Portrait Flags
For portrait flags please insure that the eyelets positioned down the hoist side of the flag are secured loosely to the flagpole (either with flag restraining loops or cable ties) this will ensure that the flag flies correctly without undue strain on flag or pole.
Damage
Damage to banners is often caused by the banners not being able to rotate in the wind. To reduce the risk of damage, ensure that the cord is taut at all times, and that there is no risk of any obstructions in the flag rotating. The damage caused to the a frames or similar pop ups are often due to forcing them to fold. To reduce the risk of damaging them make sure all users familiarise themselves with the folding video below.
Washing and repair
Flags & banner skins can be washed in a normal household washing machine set at a 30 degree wash with normal mild detergents. Avoid the use of soda or bleaching alkali.
A frames and products that you aren’t able to take off their frame you can sponge down with warm soapy water.
Correct use of your banners
All banners that are supplied in EAS standard carry cases are supplied with step by step colour illustrated instructions. Please ensure that these instructions are followed and that appropriate securing methods are used at all times.
With all or products, if you feel you are forcing it, then you are and this will damage the product.
